Plas\u00ad tering of external\nwalls refers to the process of covering the uneven surface and rough walls with the help of a plastic material named as plaster.\nThe plaster is prepared by mixing sand and lime or cement along with water.<\/p>\n\n<h5 class=\"float-left w-100 font-weight-bold py-4\">Types of materials used for plastering<\/h5>\n<div class=\"mb-4 li-data\">\n<ul>\n \t<li><b>Lime-based plaster.<\/b> This plaster is a mixture of sand and lime in a ratio of 1:3 according to volume. Lime plaster is used for\nboth the basecoat and finishing coat. If used as undercoat or basecoat, you will need to add another layer of multi-finish plaster\non top to create a high-quality smooth surface.<\/li>\n \t<li><b>Gypsum plaster.<\/b> This type of plastering material is one of the most widely used. It can be used as the basecoat or finish coat.\nManufacturers of plaster material use gypsum in a variety of products such as Thistle Hardwall and Thistle Board Finish. Gypsum works\nwell for both interior and exterior applications. It is preferred as board finish plaster and hardwall plaster to cover drywall or\nplasterboard in interior walls and ceilings.<\/li>\n \t<li>\n\t<b>Cement plaster.<\/b>Cement is popularly used as an undercoat to create a hard background surface on\nbrick or block layers. It can be applied manually or as spray finish plaster by using a plastering machine. Plasticiser is also added to cement\nplaster mixture to make spreading the plaster easier.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n--><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<h5 class=\"float-left w-100 font-weight-bold py-4\">Mortar ratio used for plastering of different parts of the house<\/h5>\n<div class=\"mb-4 li-data\">\n<ul>\n \t<li>6 MM thickness of cement plaster and cement mortar 1:3 or 1:4 is recommended for cement plastering on RCC surfaces, on the RCC walls, Fascia etc.\nor as directed by the Engineer,<\/li>\n \t<li>6 MM to 10 MM thickness of cement plaster and cement mortar in 1:3 or 1:4 ratios is recommended for underside of RCC slabs.<\/li>\n \t<li>12 MM thick cement mortar in 1:4 ratios is recommended on the walls where smooth side exists.<\/li>\n \t<li>Either 9 or 4.5 MM thick and 15 MM thick cement plaster in 1:4 ratios is recommended on the rough side of the walls.<\/li>\n \t<li>20 MM thick cement mortar in 1:3 with two coats is recommended in case of vertical Damp Proof Course (DPC).<\/li>\n \t<li>6 MM thick cement mortar in 1:3 with a coat of white washing is recommended in case of bearing plaster on the walls under the slab.<\/li>\n \t<li>15 MM thick cement mortar in 1:3 is used with 3 MM thick cement rendering on plaster in case of Dado.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<h5 class=\"float-left w-100 font-weight-bold py-4\">Materials that can be used for plastering &#8211; innovative<\/h5>\n<p class=\"text-justify text-secondary\">Ready Mix Plaster is a blend of Portland cement, fine graded sand and water soluble, high quality polymer\nadditives, in the right proportions.
